KUCHING: Schools in Sarawak have a total of 3,061 unfilled vacancies for Education Service Officers, said Minister of Education Fadhlina Sidek.
For Julau constituency alone, there are 30 vacancies.
“As of April 30, 2023, the total number of Education Service Officers for schools under the Ministry of Education in Sarawak is 42,987, compared to the number of positions filled which is 39,926. The total number of vacancies for Education Service Officers in Sarawak is 3,061.
“For Julau constituency, as of April 30, 2023, the total number of Education Service Officers is 692, compared to the number of positions filled, which is 662 teachers,” she said in reply to Julau MP Datuk Larry Sng during question time in Parliament, recently.
Fadhlina said the ministry pays close attention to filling up teaching positions in primary and secondary schools nationwide to ensure effective teaching and learning in schools under her ministry.
“My ministry is committed to meeting the needs of the teachers across the country to ensure the effective implementation of teaching and learning process,” she said.
