3,140 water tanks distributed in Asajaya

ASAJAYA:A total of 3,140 water tanks have been distributed in Asajaya district through three phases to help residents retain storage water in the event of water supply problems.

In a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said this during a symbolic ceremony to handover water tanks for Asajaya at the Kampung Sebandi Ulu Community Hall here on Tuesday.

Abdul Karim, who is also Asajaya assemblyman, said 30 hawkers from the village would also be receiving hawker assistance such as canopies, tables and chairs to ease their burden and enhance their socioeconomic circumstances.

He advised all recipients to make the best use of this assistance.

Also present were Asajaya District Officer Rais Ahmat, Samarahan District Information Officer Abdul Latip Shamsudin, Asajaya Administrative Officer Hasanah Bujang, Temenggong Bujang Chek and Ketua Kampung Sebandi Ulu Jama.
