MIRI: A sum of RM519,000 in the form of minor rural project (MRP) grant was disbursed yesterday to 32 organisations in Subis District and Miri Division.

The MRP grants were handed over by Deputy Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Development I Datuk Rosey Yunus who is also Bekenu assemblywoman.

Rosey also advised recipients (of the MRP grants) to provide information (give report) concerning the funds and activities financed using the grants given.

“If the requested MRP is for a project, then it is necessary to make a proper report on the work progress,“ she said.

Rosey pointed out that the report is important for the audit process as this is to avoid waste of the public fund and to ensure that the project benefits the local community.
