32 frontline agencies receive contributions

KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib presented cash contributions to 32 frontline agencies during a high-tea reception at Waterfront Hotel here on Sunday (Oct 11).

The occasion was part of Taib’s 84th birthday celebration.

Among the agencies that received the RM5,000 aid were the State Health Department, State and federal enforcement agencies, State Broadcasting Department, Resident’s Office, Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) and Kuching South City Council (MBKS).

While at the function, Taib cut his birthday cake in the company of his wife Ragad.

The guests were entertained with various performances including contemporary and traditional dances throughout the occasion that was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing and wife Puan Sri Datin Amar Corrine Masing, Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi; DUN Speaker Datuk Amar Mohd Asfia Awang Nasar; Minister of Education, Science and Technological Research, Datuk Amar Michael Manyin Jswong; Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Seri Prof Dr Sim Kui Hian and his wife Datin Sri Enn Ong Siok Ean; Minister of Tourism, Culture and Arts and Minister for Youth and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah; State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion; assistant ministers and other local dignitaries.
