33 participants in Wireman G2 programme

SIBU: A total of 33 participants attended the 62-hour Wireman G2 programme held at University College of Technology Sarawak (UCTS) here, recently.

The programme was organised by Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development (CEPD) from UCTS in collaboration with Electrical Association of Sarawak Sabah (EASS) and Electrical Inspectorate Unit (EIU).

After the programme, the participants were evaluated based on the practical and theoretical aspects.

According to CEPD director, Associate Professor Dr Ramli Rashidi the programme gave the participants the opportunity to gain knowledge, improve themselves and to advance in their careers.

“Through this programme, the participants can take 32 hours of theory in the classrooms and 32 hours of practical class,” he said, adding that the practical class is being held every weekend.

During the practical aspects test, the participants were assessed by a professional examiner from the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Training Institute, Jeffry Fredory.

The theory and practical class was conducted by a UCTS lecturer and a qualified staff while the ordinance class was conducted by an invited trainer from Sarawak Energy Berhad, Cheng Tiong Cheiong.
