KAPIT: Some thirty-five participants from various private and individual companies attended a one-day safety and health course for construction workers held at Kapit Civic Centre here,
yesterday.

Organised by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia, the trainer was Nurazaman Hassan assisted by Luther Edwin and Mailin Lai.

Nurazaman revealed that the course conducted by CIDB Malaysia was to impart basic knowledge on the safety and health aspects at the construction site.

“Today’s course is to disseminate vital basic knowledge of various aspects of safety and health at construction site. Our main aim is the workers’ ‘safety and health first’.

“This course guides the workers on the do’s and don’ts at the construction site to prevent untoward mishaps,” he said.

Nurazaman added that this was the first time CIDB conducted such a course in Kapit.

“Previously the course was held in Sibu for the state’s central region. We came here so that participants need not spend so much on transport and lodging,” he said.
