3,587 to receive scrolls from UNIMAS during convocation do

KOTA SAMARAHAN: A total of 3,587 graduates will receive their scrolls in the 25th Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) Convocation Ceremony which begins today.

UNIMAS graduates will receive their scrolls – Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD), Master’s Degree and Bachelor Degree.

The ceremony is officiated by Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud who is UNIMAS Chancellor at Dewan Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra (DeTAR PUTRA).

Overall, the university have 424 PhD and Master’s degree graduates, where 66 are international graduates and 39 for Bachelor’s Degree from 25 countries.

3,163 Bachelor’s Degree graduates are from 10 faculties with 570 from Faculty of Economy and Business, 19 from the Faculty of Built Environment, 74 from the Faculty of Linguistic and Communication and 378 from the Faculty of Engineering.

290 from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Science, 394 from the Faculty of Science and Technology Resource, 347 from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, 434 drom the Faculty of Science Cognitive and Human Development, 461 from the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities and 196 from the Faculty of Arts and Creative Application.

Apart from that, four graduates received awards, where two graduates – Mohd Zarul Fikri Md Sani from the Faculty of Science Cognitive and Human Development (Counseling) and Teh Sue Jing from the Faculty of Linguistic and Communication (Linguistic) will receive the Royal Student Award (Pingat Jaya Cemerlang).

Ng Boon Kiet from the Faculty of Engineering (Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering) received the Chancellor Award and Tang Hui Wen fron the Faculty of Science and Resource Technology (Biotechnology Resource) will receive the Pro Chancellor Award.
