368 exponents in ‘Kung Fu’ Festival today

KUCHING: Nanyang Wushu Federation  Of  Sarawak will hold its 27th Nanyang Wushu ‘Kung-Fu’ Festival which is a series of Kung-Fu competition at Crown Tower, Jalan Pending here from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm today (21 May).

According to the Federation’s Instructor-in-Chief, Prof. Dato Sri Dr. Song Swee Hee, more than 368 Wushu exponents will compete in the festival.

The events in the competition are Kung-Fu patterns, Cudgel Display, Boardsword Display and Sanshou (Free-sparring).

The Championship is divided into two categories, i.e. Senior Division and Junior Division. Each Division will be divided into Male and Female groups.

The Championship will be officiated by Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports, Snowdan Lawan at 10.30 am today while Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports, Datuk Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah will grace the closing and prize presentation ceremony at 5.00pm.

Members of the public are cordially invited. Admission is free.

Meanwhile, the Nanyang Wushu Federation Of Sarawak is recruiting new trainees for Wushu / Kung-Fu training.
