MIRI: A 37 year-old unemployed man was apprehended by the police on Friday in front of an eatery premise at Jalan Miri-Bintulu for allegedly being involved in drug abuse.
Miri district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the suspect was detained around 4.30pm by a team from the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (NCID).
Following a body check carried out on the suspect, police found a small packet filled with crystalline substances believed to be Syabu (methamphetamine) weighing 0.42g, said Naga in a statement.
“The suspect admitted to being involved in drug abuse activities for the past five years,” said Alexson.
The suspect was detained under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
