SELANGAU: A 38-year-old man was killed in a fatal accident after colliding with a logging truck at Jalan Sibu-Selangau last night
Selangau Bomba station responded to an emergency call at 8.07pm regarding the accident.
State Fire and Rescue Operation Centre (Bomba) said the station have deployed firemen to the incident location at Bijih junction at Jalan Sibu Selangau.
“It was reported that a victim was trapped inside a sedan vehicle which has collided with a logging trailer. Firemen were immediately despatched to the scene.
“Upon arrival, the operation commander said that there is a victim trapped inside the sedan.
“However, paramedics on scene confirmed that the victim, Joelin Mat, died due to the collision with the trailer. The driver of the trailer lorry is safe,” it said.
The remains of the victim were extracted by firemen and then handed over to the police for further action.
It added that the firemen cleared the debris on the road for the safety of the public. The operation ended at 9.41pm.
