KUCHING: A total of 395 households in Lundu and Sematan affected by the recent flash floods received food aid on Thursday.
The donations were presented by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Tanjung Datu Youth chief Azizul Annuar Adenan, who represented Tanjung Datu assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu.
He said aid would also be distributed by Lundu community leaders as well as PBB sub-branches according to localities.
“For the Sematan zone, the distribution was led by PBB Tanjung Datu deputy head Abu Seman Karim while the Lundu zone’s distribution was led by PBB Tanjung Datu secretary Abdul Razak Abdul Wahab.
“The aid was channelled by the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Tanjung Datu service centre and several generous donors to alleviate the burden of affected residents.”
Meanwhile, for the Sematan zone, aid was sent to the Sematan sub-district office in accordance with standard operating procedures of the ongoing conditional movement control order.
Also present were Helmi Hazemi, special task officer to the chief minister, Mohd Syafiie Ahmad, representative for the Lundu district officer, PBB Tanjung Datu Women chief Fatimah Abdullah and other PBB members.
