SIBU: Forty excellent Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) 2023 candidates from Catholic High School here received cash incentives from Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng recently.

The cash incentive was given to 12 Form 3 and 28 Form 6 students from the school who achieved 4A or above.

Each of them also received a certificate of recognition.

“I allocated a total of RM12,000 to our deserving students. For me, rewarding our students is extremely important,” he said in a video posted on his Facebook yesterday (Feb 8).

Chieng hoped that the students could continue to make progress and give back what they had learned to their alma mater as well as the society.

“I wish everyone a Happy New Year, success in school, and success again!” he said.

Also present during the ceremony was Sibu Catholic High School principal Marist Brother Anthony Tay.
