MUKAH: A total of 40 students from Mukah Polytechnic (PMU) recently participated in a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme at the Sarawak Global Taekwondo Association (SGTA) Training Centre in Sibu.
Organised by the Taekwondo Co-curricular Course and the Territorial Army Co-curricular Course in collaboration with the PMU Taekwondo Club, Society Of IT Students, and SGTA, the programme aimed to refurbish and repaint the SGTA Training Centre.
PMU Taekwondo coach Pengiran Haffey Izzat said the CSR initiative not only aimed at enhancing the physical condition of the training centre but also aimed to strengthen the relationship between PMU and SGTA, particularly in training taekwondo students.
“Furthermore,” he added, “we held discussions regarding activities and programmes scheduled throughout 2024, which will continue to foster this partnership.”
Additionally, the programme sought to promote national service to other private agencies, while also instilling noble values such as cooperation, mutual respect, and responsibility among participating students.
Haffey emphasized the significance of the programme in fostering a closer relationship between PMU and SGTA, ultimately benefiting both institutions.
