400 MAF members break fast with Zaki

SIBU:  400 members of the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) were present at a breaking fast event with MAF Eastern Field Command (EFC) Commander, Lieutenant General Datuk Mohd Zaki Mokhtar at the compound of Masjid Al-Hidayah, Oya Camp, at  Mile 14 here on Wednesday night.

Zaki, in his speech, thanked all the Infantry Brigades for their support and contribution in the successful implementation of the Mobile Outreach Programme and Mobile Youth Transformation Vocational Programme  in Sarawak.

He was also proud of the Third Battalion Royal Regiment team’s involvement  in “Op Daulat” in 2013 and the team’s nomination for  the “Battle Honour” Award which would be given out during a parade in  August this year.

“To those who are on duty during this Hari Raya, increase the security of the weapons store and the camp.

“To all members of the Infantry Brigades, be careful when traveling back to the village and obey the rules of the road,” he advised.

Zaki subsequently presented contributions   from a foundation to  army veterans who were  injured in   battles during the Emergency as well as army widows and   and children with chronic illnesses.

Also present at the breaking of fast event were Zaki’s wife, Datin Noraihan Ibrahim, First Malaysian Infantry Division Commander, Major General Datuk Stephen Mundaw, Commander of the 9th Infantry  Brigade, Brigadier General Dato’ Dzulkafli Mustaffa and Commander of 31st Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Dato’ Haji Fadzil Tajudin.
