ASAJAYA: A total of 4,057 people in three villages in this district have been quarantined after a Covid-19 active case detection (ACD) was implemented recently.

The villages involved are Kampung Asajaya Laut, Kampung Asajaya Tengah and Kampung Asajaya Ulu.

According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Kota Samarahan MP Rubiah Wang has expedited the process of distributing food aid to the three villages.

The food items were handed over to the people’s representatives last Friday (Mar 12).

Rubiah, when contacted, expressed her sadness when she was informed that more than half of the residents screened were found showing symptoms of Covid-19.

Therefore, she said her party will always take note of the needs of the residents through its relationship with the Asajaya District Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) and people’s representatives.
