OYA: Forty-two houses have been approved for repairs with minor rural project (MRP) funds under Phase 2/2019 of the Projek Penambahbaikan Rumah Miskin Sarawak (PPRMS).

This was disclosed by Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah after she chaired a meeting with community leaders in the Dalat constituency here on Wednesday.

Fatimah, who is Dalat assemblywoman, explained that the cost for repairing each house was between RM5,000 and RM15,000, depending on the conditions.

She said that under Phase 1/2018, 48 houses were repaired, involving a cost of RM495,000.

Phase 2/2018 saw 46 houses benefitting from the initiative with repairs costing RM487,000 while another 40 houses were repaired under phase 1/2019 at a cost of RM492,000.

The meeting touched on three points — MRP-PPRMS Phase 1/2019, application for house repairs under Phase 2/2019 with the list received from Dalat constituency service centre and community leaders, and applications for development projects from community leaders.
