SIMUNJAN: A total of 42 recipients consisting of the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) and the chairman of the Mosque and Surau Committee for the Simunjan constituency received Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant amounting to RM420,000 at the Kampung Nanas Multipurpose Hall, here recently.

Speaking briefly at the ceremony, Simunjan assembyman,  Awla Dris said, all recipients should make the best use of the funds given to carry out various programmes or activities that benefit the residents.

“Through this assistance it would help the JKKK and the mosque committee in carrying out their annual activities in their respective areas with programmes they have organised.

“With a contribution like this, I hope it will be used as best as possible by carrying out appropriate activities and welfare programmes in the respective villages,” he said.

In the same ceremony, Batang Sadong MP Rodiyah Sapiee also handed over a cheque for the 2023 Member of Parliament’s special allocation fund to 23 recipients consisting of mosques and suraus in the Simunjan constituency amounting to RM49,000.

Rodiyah, in her brief speech, also said that all recipients must use the funds as best as possible because the allocation to each MP is very limited.

“Ideally every aid received should be spent well and benefit the local residents in their respective areas,” she said.
