MUKAH: The Mukah Division Disaster Management Committee saluted frontliners nationwide for their sacrifices in assisting the country in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Their contributions since the movement control order (MCO) was enforced on March 18 has helped to flatten the curve of Covid-19 cases in the last few days, especially in Sarawak with zero positive cases recorded for four consecutive days as of May 17.

Mukah Division Resident Hamdiah Bakir said frontliners had been very busy during the MCO and now the conditional movement control order (CMCO).

“On behalf of the committee, I wish to thank all frontliners, while some of us are working from home or staying at home,” she said at the handover of Raya-Gawai cakes at Menara Pehin Setia Raja here yesterday.

Hamdiah, who is also Mukah Division Disaster Management Committee chairperson, handed over the cakes to representatives of frontliners from various departments and agencies.

The Raya-Gawai cakes were contributed by the Women and Family Department Sarawak (JWKS) and would benefit 424 frontliners from seven departments and agencies in this division.
