BINTULU: A total of 450 students from poor families in Tatau District have been selected to receive vouchers for the purchase of school uniforms and shoes from Sarawak Foundation worth RM90,000.

These students were from 14 secondary and primary schools in this district.

On hand to present these vouchers on Friday was Tatau District Officer Jabang Juntan at Tatau District office.

Jabang, in his opening remarks, called on local community leaders at the grassroots level to be actively involved in poverty eradication efforts to ensure those categorised under the low income households are eligible to receive financial assistance from the government.

“Help them to fill in the forms, so that no one is left behind to receive financial assistance provided by the government,” he emphasised.
