KUCHING: A total of 4,930 households in the Kuala Rajang constituency will receive food aid under the Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance (BKSS) programme.
“Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg announced an allocation of RM250,000 to channel food aid under BKSS for each state constituency.
“For the N.41 Kuala Rajang area, food supply will be distriuted to 4,930 households, similar to last year. Priority will be given to households in the B40 group,” said Assistant Urban Development and Natural Resources Minister Datuk Len Talif Salleh
He said this in a Facebook post on Thursday (June 3) after attending the Sarikei Division Food Supply Chain sub-committee meeting.
Len said distribution would be done by the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu Kuala Rajang service centre.
“They will be assisted by government agencies involved according to the situation in the area.”
Earlier, the Sarikei Division Food Supply Chain sub-committee meeting was chaired by acting Sarikei Resident Abang Mohd Porkan Abang Budiman.
It was to discuss the supply mechanism and distribution of food items under the respective state constituencies.
Also in the virtual meeting were Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Corporate Communications & Ukas) Abdullah Saidol, who is the Semop assemblyman.
Joining them were Pakan assemblyman Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom, Repok assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing, Daro assemblyman Safiee Ahmad and Meluan assemblyman Rolland Duat Jubin.
