KUCHING: A total of 50 recipients received contributions in the form of food essentials under the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) Ziarah programme which was held yesterday.

Repok Assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii remarked that the food contribution is crucial in addressing the needs of the people during Phase two of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) as he believed some of them who are affected during the period.

“The contribution includes basic food items such as rice, instant noodles, biscuits, sugar, salt, cooking oil as well as necessary Covid-19 supplies such as face masks and hand sanitisers.

“The aid was distributed to the targeted groups such as the elderly, dependents, single mothers, and people with disability (OKU) in the hope that it could ease their burden,” he said.

The symbolic handover of the donation was done by Huang himself whereas assistance to the target groups was supplied by Iban leaders in Zone A, Zone B, Zone C, and Zone D.

In addition, Huang also took the opportunity to thank Ukas for its willingness to organise such a programme at Repok Service Centre.

He expressed his appreciation and congratulations to Ukas and all parties involved in the success of the event as well as to those dedicated people who  provided the best services to help the people.

He also hoped that the Ukas Ziarah programme could be continued in the future.
