50 partake in mutual assist event

SRI AMAN: About 50 individuals took part in a “gotong-royong” (communal work party) sanitation exercise at RPR Phase 2, Taman Sentosa Indah here last Friday (July 31).

The programme was organised by Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Simanggang branch in collaboration with Sri Aman District Council (MDSA) and Taman Sentosa Indah residents.

Community Well Being Assistant Minister cum Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis also took part in the programme that was aimed at highlighting awareness of hygiene practices and good housekeeping by the community.

In addition to preventing the spread of various diseases from unmanaged garbage piles, it could also create a landscape with a pleasing sight for the public.

Also participating in the programme were MDSA deputy chairman Cr Andar Suntai, Temenggong Kueh Aik Seng, Pemanca Lee Siang Hua, Penghulu Tiong Chong Onn, MDSA assistant administrative officer Regina Giles Senin and MDSA assistant environmental health officer Fiona Bunu.
