KUCHING: About 500 people attended TaklimatIhya’ Ramadan 2019M/1440H held by Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Masjid Negeri Sarawak (LAKMNS) at Masjid Jamek Negeri Sarawak here today.
Among the participants were community heads, mosque chairpersons from all over Kuching, Penyelaras Pengajar Masjid Bandaraya Kuching course participants, Masjid Jamek Negeri Sarawak and Masjid Bandaraya Kuching taklim participants.
State Mufti Datuk Kipli Yassin said the briefing was on activities to be held during Ihya’ Ramadan.
“Among the activities are Tarawih prayer and Witir Berjemaah, Majlis Tahlil Arwah, Majlis BerbukaPuasa, weekly Tazkirah, SambutanNuzul Al-Quran, Iktikaf 10 Ramadan Terakhir, Majlis Khatam Al-Quran and other,” he said.
He advised the community to respect the holy month and keep the mosque clean, particularly the toilet and wudhu areas.
“I urge the community to follow in the footsteps of a programme in Singapore where families come together to the mosque to perform the subuh prayer,” he said.
“On the funds that the mosque collected from donations, it should be utilised appropriately for the betterment of the mosque,” he added.
Also held was the symbolic handover of fund from LAKMNS to five mosques and schools.
A tahlil recital was also performed by Sarawak Head Imam Datuk Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi.
