KUCHING: A total of 500 individuals received their vaccine at the Batu Kawa health clinic here on Saturday (June 12), said Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) advisor Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian.
The Batu Kawa assemblyman also expressed his gratitude towards the medical team members for their efforts to ensure a smooth vaccine rollout at the clinic.
“Thank you to the medical team by taking advantage of a non-clinic day weekend, responding to the substantial availability of vaccines arriving in Sarawak this week.
“They have administered the vaccine to 500 people from the local community today (Saturday). Thanks to the volunteers, together, we ensure the success of the vaccination programme,” he said in a Facebook post on Saturday (June 12).
Dr Sim said the commitment of the medical staff at the clinic reflected the spirit of solidarity among Sarawakians and their efforts to fight Covid-19.
At the same time, he also reminded vaccine recipients to check the MySejahtera application for their appointment.
In a separate post, he also thanked the frontliners who have worked hard for their dedication in shouldering their responsibilities of curbing the spread of Covid-19.
“Thank you to all the frontliners, medical and non-medical, despite physically exhausted, mentally fatigued, burnt up and stretched to the limit, they still rose to the occasion.
“They have set up various Covid-19 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres and vaccination centres in short notice.
“Each of us must share the spirit of solidarity, play our roles and do our parts to help the frontliners so that their sacrifices are not in vain,” he added.
