51 families receive aid from Yadim, Islamic NGOs

KUCHING: A total of 51 families of flood victims in Samarahan, Sebuyau and Simunjan districts received aid from Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (Yadim) and Islamic non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the state.

The assistance in the form of dry food and hygiene kits were presented by state Yadim director Awang Dulhadi Awang Mat.

“For the Simunjan district, those who received the aid were 93 victims from 39 families at Dewan Mesra Simunjan temporary evacuation centre (PPS).

“Also present during the presentation ceremony was Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris who handed over 39 bags of dry food, personal hygiene kit, prayer mats and ‘telekung’ (robes), drinks and 120 porridge pax to the victims,” Yadim said in a statement today (Feb 6).

In the same district, Yadim and Islamic NGOs also handed over aid to PPS Masjid Kampung Seruyuk to 72 victims from 19 families from Kampung Seruyuk and Kampung Ensika.

For Sebuyau district, a total of 39 victims from 16 families at PPS Dewan Kampung Entangor also received similar assistance.

In the meantime, Yadim and Islamic NGOs also handed over assistance to PPS Kota Samarahan Civic Centre.

“A total of six families with 30 members evacuated here have received assistance in the form of dry food and personal hygiene kits,” it added.
