534 pairs of reading glasses for the elderly

KUCHING: In conjunction with   International Women Day, the women’s wing of SUPP Batu Lintang branch has given away 534 pairs of reading glasses to the people here.

  Members of the women’s wing  gathered at the Stutong market and Sg. Maong community centre recently to give the reading glasses to the elderly. It was part of the SUPP Batu Lintang community service.

“We ask the community to join us always so that we can provide better services.

“The exercise is in response to residents’ requests to our branch to help elderly persons  read better,” said the branch in a press statement. 

The presentation of the glasses was led by SUPP Batu Lintang Branch Women chief, Councillor Katherine VoonYian Vie.

Also present were members of the branch led by  chairman, Sih Hua Tong and the SUPP Central Women chief, Kho Teck Wan.
