ASAJAYA: A sexagenarian who was feared missing at sea after his boat engine sustained damages while on his way home, was found safe and sound today (Sept 22).
The 62-year-old man had gone out to sea as early as 5am on Wednesday (Sept 21) for fishing.
While returning home around 3pm, the boat engine had a serious problem.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said his men received a distress call around 11.40pm on the incident at Kampung Moyan Laut.
Firemen from Asajaya station were promptly despatched to the scene to gather information and carry out the initial search.
Fortunately, at around 12.45am, the man was found by the villagers in safe condition. They helped to tow his boat to Pengkalan Kampung Moyan.
The whole operation wrapped up at 1am.
