64 students from special education schools join sports day

SIBU: A total of 64 students from Special Education Schools joined a programme in conjunction with National Sports Day 2022, today (Oct 15).

According to the president of the Parents Teachers Association of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Pendidikan Khas Sibu Ismawi Sahari, there are six schools involved in the programme besides a Community Rehabilitation Centre (PPDK).

The schools involved are SK Pendidikan Khas Sibu as the organiser of the programme, SK Bandaran No.3, SK Perbandaran Sibu No.4, SK Jalan Deshon, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Rosli Dhoby and PPDK Nur Qaseh.

“One of the purposes we hold this programme is to enhance the friendship between special education schools in Sibu.

“At the same time, we want to give awareness to school students about the importance of playing sports and taking care of their health,” he said when met by reporters at the Malay Union Club (MUC) Hall.

The programme started with an aerobic exercise activity and was followed by a walk of 5,000 steps around Kampung Bandong.
