66 donate blood in MRC Miri donation drive

MIRI: Sixty-six donors successfully donated their blood during the 916 Blood Donation Campaign at Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Miri branch here yesterday.

The blood donation campaign jointly organised by Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA) and MRC Miri branch was officiated by Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin.

A total of 77 individuals registered but only 66 were successful in donating their blood.

The blood donation campaign is supported by Miri Hospital Blood Bank and partially sponsored by The Twin Brothers Patisserie, Shun Shen Lee Trading (Miri) Sdn Bhd, Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad, Premium Food Hunter, and Miri City Council.

NSJA secretary Michelle Choo Lee Nyuk and MRC Miri Blood Donor Recruitment Committee chairman Karambir Singh are joint organising chairman for the blood donation campaign.

Karambir stated that every drop of blood saves lives and the contribution of every donor is appreciated.

“We hope more would come forward to give their support by donating.

“We are also actively encouraging new blood donors to come forward and contribute to the noble cause,” he said.
