7 including 2 women arrested after armed attack

MIRI: Police arrested seven individuals including two women suspected of fighting with sharp weapons in the parking area on Jalan Boulevard here, on Monday.

All the suspects, aged between 16 and 33, were taken to the Miri Central police station for further action.

According to Miri district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, several machete blades were seized during the arrest made around 10pm.

“The cause of the incident is still under investigation,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code, Section 6(1) of the Corrosion Act and Regulation 25(n) of the National Registration Regulations (PPPN) 1990.
