KUCHING: A total of 710 civil servants from 35 government departments and agencies have been conferred the Loyalty Service Medals.

Of the 35 departments and agencies, 29 are state departments and agencies while six others come under the federal government.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg was present to officiate at the Kuching Division Loyalty Service Medal Presentation Ceremony 2023 which was held at the Raia Hotel and Convention Centre here on today (Mar 20).

Leading the list of recipients was State Attorney General Datuk Seri Talat Mahmood Abdul Rashid who has served for 34 years.

Under the head of departments list, apart from Talat, the medals were also presented to other 11 recipients who had served for over 25 years.

The recipients are Datuk Seri Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar who had served for 35 years; Dzulkarnain Masron (31 years); Datuk Mohamad Junaidi Mohidin (30 years); Sirai Daha (30 years), Richard Tajan (30 years), Datuk Azlan Badri (29 years); Khalidi Ibrahim (29 years); Salmah Jobeli (29 years); Dayang Joanita Azizah Abang Morshidi (28 years); Nancy Jolhi (26 years); and Mackos Sibong (25 years).

Meanwhile, 23 recipients received their Loyalty Service Medals for having served faithfully and with dedication.

The recipients were Ismawi Jamali of the Department of Land and Survey (JTS) Sarawak, Saufi Morshidi, Kasmin Kasut, Peter Sambang, Sapiee Abang, Sapuan Yaman and Junie@Latip Saliman who had served for 41 years and 40 years each respectively.

Jilo Lidok and Patrick Loo of Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) who have served for 40 years were also among the recipients.

Linda Liao Vun Fah@Winfah of Kuching South City Council (MBKS) who served for 43 years also received her medal along her colleagues who had served for 40 years namely, Norlia Abang Salleh, Jinus Sayamg, Sulaiman Marchinmin, and Meli Tintang.

Daud Kelas of Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) was also among the recipients having served for 41 years.

Apart from that, those who had served for 40 years included Josef Sinol of Bau District Council; Lily Poh of Kuching Water Board; Bedidang Aseng, Leong Tien Keh and Roseni Mazland of Royal Malaysia Customs Department Sarawak.

Three recipients from the Sarawak State Education Department were Irene Teda Labau who had served for 41 years, Paul Sazin Riget (41 years), and Nancy Peter Nokie (40 years).

Overall, out of the 710 recipients, 51 of them are from the Office of the Premier of Sarawak; Forest Department Sarawak (49); JTS (45); Kuching Water Board (38); MBKS (35); DBKU (35); Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (30); Islamic Affairs Department Sarawak (28); Department of Agriculture Sarawak (25); Sarawak Rivers Board (24); Resident and District Office Kuching Division (23); Sarawak Social Welfare Department (22); Lundu District Council (21); Royal Malaysia Customs Department Sarawak (21); Immigration Department of Malaysia Sarawak (21); Sarawak State Health Department (20); and Public Works Department Sarawak (19).

In addition, there are 19 recipients from the Sarawak State Education Department; Sarawak Museum Department (16); JBALB (16); Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development (13); Information Department of Malaysia Sarawak (13); Sarawak Treasury Department (11); Bau District Council (11); Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (11); Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development (11); Department of Irrigation and Drainage Sarawak (11); Women and Family Department Sarawak (10); Yayasan Sarawak (nine); Ministry of Food Industry, Commodity, and Regional Development (nine); Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (eight); State Financial Secretary Department (seven); Sarawak State Attorney General Department (five); Sarawak State Public Service Commission (two) and Politeknik Kuching Sarawak (two).
