7,160 inter-district travel requests approved

MIRI: From April 25 until May 1 the local police received 7,688 applications for inter-district travel.

Of that figure, 7,160 were approved while 528 were rejected.

This was revealed yesterday (April 3) by Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin, who is also in-charge of the divisional Disaster Management Committee (MDDMC), after chairing a meeting of the committee on Zoom.

As for roadblocks, 11,076 vehicles were stopped and checked by enforcement personnel, while 214 were told to turn back as part of the effort to get the ongoing pandemic in check.

A total 10 summonses were issued for various traffic offences.

From April 26 to May 2, city council officers inspected 648 premises to ensure that they complied with the standard operating procedures (SOPs). Fifteen offending premises were given written notices and nine were issued compounds.
