780 residents receive food aid

A frontliner delivers the food supply to the doorstep of a resident

KUCHING: About 780 residents from 130 households in Taman Univista received their food supply assistance recently.

The food supply from Kota Samarahan MP Rubiah Wang was distributed by frontliners from Bomba, Civil Defense Force, Social Welfare Department and volunteers.

She said the food supply was for the second week of enhanced movement control order (EMCO) in the area which has been in force since last week.

“I thank the Bomba, Civil Defense Force, Social Welfare Department and all those involved in ensuring the smooth distribution of food supply assistance to residents at Taman Univista.

“I urge the public to always be vigilant, especially during the spread of Covid-19. Limit outdoor activities to important matters and participate in the vaccination programme launched by the government,” she said.

Rubiah said she will be one of the earliest individuals in Samarahan to be injected with the Covid-19 vaccine in the near future.

She hoped that by doing such, the public would be confident in receiving their vaccine jab and keep themselves safe from Covid-19.

Meanwhile, the Kota Samarahan MP also thanked Stakan assemblyman Datuk Amar Mohammad Ali Mahmud who had earlier doled out food supply assistance to residents of Taman Univista.

The handing over of food aid was presented by Rubiah’s representative and also witnessed by Samarahan district officer, Anuar Daan.

The EMCO at Taman Univista is expected to end on March 2 after being imposed on Feb 17.
