KUCHING: 79 students from SK St Teresa, Kuching and their class teachers, along with 37 students from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) took part in the ‘Healthy Kitty’ programme.

The programme, held at the school on 27 October, 2018, was organised by medical students from the university with the objective of promoting health education to primary school students through fun and creative methods.

The theme of the event was ‘H.E.Y (Healthy, Exercise, Youngsters)’ which aimed to promote self-cleanliness, healthy eating habits, and a healthy lifestyle.

All of the activities were done with info graphics and music to attract the students’ interest towards health education. Among the activities held during the one-day programme included dancing as well as demonstrations on how to make salads and how to wash their hands properly.

The programme gained favourable responses from the students, parents, and teachers of SK St Teresa with hopes that there will be more community service activities to promote health education to students.
