7DSC emerge champion

SIBU: Futsal 7DSC team from here successfully raked in RM6,000 after emerging champion in the Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing Cup, Futsal Championship 2018 which concluded at Bukit Lima Indoor Stadium here last Sunday.

Apart from cash, the team also brought home the challenge trophy and medals.

In second place was GeeDee team from Kapit which took home RM3,000.

The third and fourth places went to Neo Nexus from Kuching and Zon Ho from Sibu which pocketed RM1,500 and RM750, respectively.

Four other teams namely Triplex FT, Ummi FT, SDFC-B and Nazario received consolation prizes of RM300 each.

A total of 25 teams took part in the event which was organised by Zong Ho Friendship Association Sibu and King United Recreation Club Sibu and sponsored by Forward Marine Enterprise Sdn Bhd.

President of PDP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing who was represented by vice-president Cr Teo Boon Siew said the competition, among others, was aimed at unearthing talents among the youths apart from fostering closer ties with non-governmental bodies in the state.

He also recorded his appreciation of all the participating teams and congratulated the winners.

“I believe this competition can act as a platform to train and produce more futsal players for the nation. Although winning is sought after in every competition, what is more important is participation, display of sporting spirit and physical health,” he pointed out.
