KUCHING:  Dwellers in Beluru district were also benefitting from the on-going food supply aid distribution under the Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance (BKSS).

This time around, a total of 808 packs of food supply aid were allocated and handed over to locals in the district.

Local Government Assistant Minister Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil said the distribution involved 31 villages and was done by the Beluru branch service centre.

“For the Beluru district, there are a few distribution centres that have been set up. Among them are at the Beluru branch service centre, Dewan Petipun Rumah Wen Lapok and SK Sungai Entulang,” he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

Earlier, he visited the Beluru service centre to monitor the distribution of the food aid supply to the villagers.

Penguang said the distribution schedule had been disseminated to the villagers via their area’s WhatsApp group.

“Representatives of villages are urged to collect their food aid supply according to the designated time to avoid unnecessary congestion.

“I also urge all to continue abiding by the standard operating procedures (SOPs) during the food aid distributing process,” he said.

Meanwhile on Monday, the Marudi assemblyman also visited the distribution of food aid supply in Marudi district.

“The distribution in Marudi involved 2,197 households with the process having started on Sunday.

“I hope that this food aid can ease the burden of the recipients involved. I have also advised that the assistance should be distributed to those affected regardless of political affiliation,” he said.
