“I have received feedback from youngsters who are looking for jobs. At the same time, I also receive feedback from company bosses who say they can’t find people for the jobs they are offering.

“I find it is strange we have this kind of situation. That’s why it is very important for my service centre to work with SOSCO, United Chinese Association Sibu and Sarawak ICT Association Sibu.

“I hope in my constituency, people including school leavers can find jobs and return to normal life.

“Especially, after the recent announcement of the SPM and STPM results, those who do not want to continue their studies and wish to find jobs, the event will be a good opportunity for them,” he said.

Touching on the issue of human trafficking, Chieng urged young school leavers to listen to the advices of their seniors or their parents.
