8,395 vaccinated in Tanjung Datu

KUCHING: A total of 8,395 individuals in the Tanjung Datu constituency have been vaccinated, said its assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu.

She said the constituency targets to vaccinate about 800 individuals daily.

“Every resident should take vaccination seriously and not be afraid. This is to protect us and our families.

“Especially now that Lundu district has returned into a red zone after there was an increase in Covid-19 cases,” she said on Thursday.

Jamilah urged the residents to remain vigilant and follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) by washing their hands regularly, maintaining physical distancing and using face masks whenever outside.

“We will also improve the (vaccination) process from time to time with the participation of volunteers from the Tanjong Datu service centre,” she added.

Earlier Thursday, Jamilah visited the Lundu district community hall vaccination centre (PPV) to monitor the vaccine rollout.

At the same time, she also called on those who have not registered to submit their names to the local community leaders to ensure that they are not left behind in the vaccination.

At the programme, Jamilah donated two laptops, food and beverages to the frontliners on duty at the PPV.

The Lundu district information department and the Kampung Pulo Ayer Lundu village safety and development committee (JKKK) also donated food and beverages to those on duty.
