85 IKMAS students graduate tomorrow

KUCHING: 85 students will receive their diplomas during the 15th Convocation Ceremony for Institut Kemahiran Islam Malaysia Sarawak (IKMAS) tomorrow.

President of Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS), Datu Misnu Taha said that the ceremony would be held at MIS.

“Some of the 85 students are also from Sabah and West Malaysia.
“Our guest of honour will be the Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud who will be accompanied by his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib as well as the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Dato Seri Jamil Khir Baharom.

“Apart from the convocation ceremony, four special awards will be given to deserving students. The four awards are IKMAS Sarawak Award, MIS Award, Director of the Malaysian Islamic Development Department Award and the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Award,” Misnu told a press conference yesterday during the rehearsal for the 15th IKMAS Convocation at MIS.

Misnu added that both Taib and Jamil would be speaking during the ceremony.
