KUCHING: A total of 922 arrivals had been recorded at the Tebedu Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Complex as of April 22.

Serian MP Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem said about 44 per cent of the arrivals came to the state to seek medical services.

“I have come to pay a working visit to the Tebedu ICQS Complex and overall, I am very satisfied with the progress and the role played by all the departments and agencies involved,” he said in a news report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS).

Riot, who is also the Prime Minister’s special envoy to Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, attended a special briefing on the entry process of foreigners from various sectors at the Tebedu ICQS last weekend.

Among those present were Sarawak Immigration director Datuk Ken Leben and Tebedu District Officer Joseph Liaw.

Meanwhile, on April 13, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said since the state’s borders were opened until April 13, 463 arrivals and 1,074 departures were recorded at the Tebedu ICQS Complex.
