BINTULU: An elderly man broke his right leg after he was believed to have fallen from the fourth floor of the Sungai Plan this morning (Jan 8).
Zone 5 Fire Department chief Wan Kamarudin Wan Ahmad said the 94-year-old victim was stuck on the roof of the first floor while waiting for rescuers to arrive.
Firemen from Bintulu station were promptly deployed to the scene after receiving an emergency call around 7am and arrived there within 20 minutes.
“The firemen used a ladder to bring the victim down with a stretcher,” said Wan Kamarudin.
The old man was handed over to the paramedics from Bintulu Hospital for initial treatment at the scene.
He was then rushed to the hospital for further treatment.
