KUCHING: A mobile programme at Kampung Paroh in the Tupong constituency has enabled 960 residents to be vaccinated.
Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman said more residents are expected to receive the Covid-19 vaccine as his team was gathering the names of those yet to be vaccinated.
“We are also in the process of obtaining data from all villages and residential areas, to get the numbers of those yet to receive their vaccine appointments.
“With the data, we can then apply to the Health Office,” he said in a Facebook post on Thursday (July 1).
Fazzrudin said the mobile vaccination programme would also be conducted in other areas in the constituency.
He also thanked the programme’s organising chairperson Senator Dr Zaiedi Suhaili, Tupong Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu, the Division Health Office and others involved in the vaccine rollout.
On Thursday, the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) reported that at least 1,040 residents were targeted in the outreach programme.
Residents aged 18 and above, among others, included those from Kampung Paroh, Kampung Sejijak, Taman Allamanda, Taman Malihah and Batu 7 Sungai Tengah.
The residents were administered with their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine by two doctors, assisted by 20 nurses from the Petra Jaya Health Clinic, from 8am to 4pm, at the Kampung Paroh Multipurpose Hall.
