KUCHING: The number of flood victims in the Kuching division who are being accommodated at three evacuation centres continued to rise to 97 from 24 families as at 8 pm.
The Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat said in a statement that 42 victims from 11 families were sent to Kampung Paon Community Hall, Lundu which was opened at 12.30 pm today.
Meanwhile, 32 victims from nine families were placed at the Sinaran Kampung Lumut Hall while 23 victims from four families were placed at the Surau Ar Rahman in Kampung Sungai Batu.
As of 4 pm today, 81 victims from 21 families were placed at the three evacuation centres, including two which were opened at 3 pm yesterday following continuous rain. – Bernama
