98.7 percent of eligible Dalat population immunised

DALAT: A total of 98.7 percent of the population in this district who are eligible for immunisation have been vaccinated so far, according to the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) in the district.

It said out of the 12,563 people, who were eligible for vaccination, 12,397 people had been vaccinated. These excluded 383 plantation workers. 

This was said in a briefing during a visit by Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah to the immunisation centre (PPV) at Stadium Perpaduan here on Saturday (Aug 7).

The Dalat assemblywoman’s visit was to monitor the progress of immunisation at the district CITF here.

A total of 12,780 people had received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine while 10,736 (82.6 percent) had been administered the second jabs.

For persons with disabilities (PwD), 127 out of the total 165 had been vaccinated at home through the mobile vaccination centre.

Twenty-three people refused while 15 more had not been vaccinated yet.

The plantation workers were vaccinated at the district vaccination centre and the mobile vaccination centre.

The total number of people who had not been vaccinated (due to health and other reasons) was 17 while 103 refused vaccination and 46 others had either died or had been vaccinated or had moved out.
