KUCHING: The charred remains of a body, believed to be that of a male, were discovered early yesterday morning. The case has been classified as murder. The identity of the victim is not known as there were no identification papers on the body.
Sarawak CID head SAC Denis Leong confirmed that two men
stumbled upon the remains while searching for scrap metal in an empty lane at Jalan Pelabuhan at Pending Industrial Estate here.
He told New Sarawak Tribune that the body was burnt beyond recognition and the police were looking into reports of missing persons. The remains have been sent to the Sarawak General Hospital morgue.
