KUCHING: The annual Pesta Benak Sri Aman will be held from Sept 27 – 29.Its organising committee members led by the Resident Sri Aman Division Indit Bangai today (August 14) paid a courtesy call on Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas at his office here to brief him on its many activities.
Some 11 activities have been planned for this biggest tourism event for the division. They include a regatta, bazaar ria, Benak surfing, stage shows, Ratu Kebaya Nyonya development exhibition and more.
The Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has been invited to perform the grand opening of the festival at 2.30pm on Sept 28.
Meanwhile, the Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud is expected to officiate at its closing at 11am on Sept 29.
