Congratulating Lau on her appointment, Chong said NIOSH was a very important organisation that boosted the nation’s

With strong legislative framework for occupational safety and health, he said the organisation played an important role in complementing the government’s efforts by providing training, consultations, and information dissemination services to various industries.

“I hope that with the appointment of Lau as the chairperson of this organisation, she can now do more for the people of Sabah and Sarawak by boosting their working skills so that they are prepared and ready to be employed, especially among the B40 group,” he added.

Chong said being an MP at the same time, Lau could also raise policy matters in her debate in parliament to bring upon government policies to further enhance NIOSH’s achievements.
