MIRI: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg yesterday presented the Loyal Service Medal or ‘Pingat Perkhidmatan Setia’ to 357 state civil servants.
The ceremony was held at a leading hotel here.
The recipients were from 14 departments and agencies — six from the federal sector and eight from the state.
The medals were awarded by the state government as a token of gratitude towards civil servants who have served for 20 years continuous or 25 accumulated years of service.
Sarawak civil servant Fathi Hambali, Miri City Council secretary Morshidi Frederick and Subis district officer Jamalie Busri were among the 357 recipients who received the Loyal Service Medal.
Also present at the ceremony was State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion.
