ROBAN: Job opportunities offered through the Sarawak government’s Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 should motivate parents to encourage their children to do well in school.
Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri said, even if they have passed the public examinations, they should continue to encourage them.
“For those who have finished schooling, continue your studies to a higher level and beyond.
“Because after that, through the PCDS 2030, many job opportunities will be available and the younger generation should prepare themselves and seize the 200,000 career opportunities that will be available,” he said.
He said this during the 35th Annual General Meeting of the Parents and Teachers Association (PIBG) of SMK Kalaka at Dewan Sri Tebujang, yesterday.
He said parents should not be complacent about this.
“This is a golden opportunity for the children … the PCDS 2030 is an important foundation to make Sarawak a developed state. Next, it will allow the people to enjoy high incomes,” he said.
Mohamad also made a symbolic donation of RM25,000 to the PIBG.
In addition, he announced several projects under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) listed for next year.
The school field upgrading project will meanwhile be implemented this year.
Principal Abang Adrus Abg Junidi and PIBG Chairman Gani Eli were also present.
