SARIKEI: A family in Jalan Sentebu here was awakened early this morning (Feb 27) by their cat’s persistent hissing and growling, leading to the startling discovery of a 13-foot python in their kitchen.

The alarmed family immediately called the authorities at 12.32 am, prompting a rapid response from the Civil Defence Force (APM).

Upon arrival, the APM team found the python hiding under a kitchen cupboard.

Efficiently handling the situation, the responders managed to safely capture the reptile without incident. The python was subsequently released into its natural habitat, away from residential areas.
